Bradley J. Chastant, MD, FACS

Dr. Chastant, native of Lafayette, has been practicing medicine since 1988. From the moment Dr. Chastant began his career, he made great efforts to provide as much as possible to his patients by building a practice that includes departments for ear, nose & throat (ENT), skin care, hearing, allergy and facial plastic surgery. He witnessed first-hand how there could be many contributing factors to a disease and sought to provide an all-in-one solution for his patients. Dr. Chastant decided to combine all these specialties under one roof, resulting in Acadian ENT, Acadian Hearing, Acadian Skin Care, Acadian Allergy and Acadian Facial Plastic Surgery.

These specialized departments offer a wide range of services related to problems of the ear, nose, throat and procedures for facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Chastant and his ENT practice associates, Jeffrey Joseph, MD, FACS, Jennifer Daigle Hanby, MD and Jason Durel, MD, are on the cutting edge of allergy-related diagnosis and treatment. Throughout the years, Dr. Chastant has been a pioneer in the research and development of frontal sinus stents. He has been using non-medicated sinus stents successfully for over 10 years and is the only doctor in the region using medicated frontal sinus stents to aid in the prevention of recurring blockage following surgery. These medicated stents provide relief to patients who suffer from chronic sinusitis and allergies. His first successful medicated stent procedure was performed on February 28, 2012 at Lafayette General Surgical Hospital earning him recognition as the first procedure in the history of Louisiana Medicine to be an innovative success.

In addition, Dr. Chastant has extensive experience in both cosmetic and medical procedures. He was the first surgeon to perform an open rhinoplasty as well as the first endoscopic sinus surgery in Lafayette, and is a surgeon specialized in head and neck cancer, and thyroidectomy. Due to his combination of experience in both surgery and cosmetic procedures, Dr. Chastant strives to provide an aesthetically pleasing result when performing visible surgeries to minimize the appearance of unsightly scars.

Dr. Chastant credits much of his passion and learning to the late Dr. Jack Anderson, founder of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, with whom he spent an extensive amount of his last year of residency working with. He is a board-certified otolaryngologist, with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Louisiana; doctorate from LSU Health Science Center of New Orleans; and general surgery and otolaryngology program training from LSU Medical Center. He completed his residency from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans in 1988 before starting his own practice.

While enriching the lives of our future, Dr. Chastant has continued to be a leader in medicine by offering internships to students in various concentrations and serving as a clinical professor at LSU Health Sciences Center and director for the Otolaryngology Residency Program at UMC Lafayette. Dr. Chastant also sits on the Lafayette General Medical Center Board of Trustees and the Lafayette General Surgical Hospital Executive Board. He strives to educate his patients and serve the community by contributing to his alma maters.

Dr. Chastant has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America - Otolaryngology.
